As 2012 comes to an end, with it comes a time of reflection. A time to remember all of the moments and experiences lived during this 365 day journey. It's not only about looking back, but looking forward to 2013 as well.

May 2013 be as bright as the flare held by Jim Morrison in the photo below. Thanks to all of my readers for your support during this year, and I wish you the best for the new year that's just about to begin in some hours.

Marlon Brando: Plaid Jacket

A plaid jacket won't only keep you warm on a cold day, but it will make you look well dressed in a casual laid back way. Plaid has been around for decades, and has made a comeback in recent years with the 90s grunge revival; yet the use of plaid goes back to the 50s-60s. Below a photo of Marlon Brando wearing a plaid jacket with jeans.

L.G.R S/S 2013: For Your Eyes Only

L.G.R is an Italian eyewear brand, known for its timeless elegance, top quality materials, and one of a kind designs.

For this upcoming Spring/Summer season, L.G.R has enriched its wide collection, named after iconic African cities, not only by adding new models such as Tiko, Kango, Nile, & Zambezi; but by incorporating intense colors and metal to its frames.

All of L.G.R's celluloid acetate frames are handmade in Italy by artisans. For the first time, stainless steel has been added to the frames' arms, making it an original and elegant accent. The newest versions of the Casablanca & Keren, and Zambezi frames have metallic arms, and are reminiscent of the eyewear worn by the likes of Warren Beatty and Robert Redford during the 70s.

On the other hand the newest frame hues such as Havana Red and Blue, Grey Marble, Nimetic, and Faded Grey will definitely add the finishing touch to any ensemble.

L.G.R sunglasses and eyeglasses can be found in top stores and boutiques around the world. For further information visit:

Niemeyer, de Moraes, and Jobim: Brazilian Icons

A unique photograph that captured the encounter of three Brazilian icons: Vinicius de Moraes, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Oscar Niemeyer.

Moraes wrote the lyrics for the bossanova classic "The Girl of Ipanema", while Jobim composed the music for this and other bossanova musical masterpieces. Niemeyer, who died two days ago at the age of 104, was one of the greatest architects in history. His best works can be found within the city of Brasilia, yet one can appreciate his modern creations in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, and several European cities.

Oscar Niemeyer didn't only design buildings, he created special works, such as the set for one of de Moraes' plays.

Duran Duran: Fall/Winter Trendsetters

Besides being one of the most popular groups in the world during the 80s, Duran Duran had a strong impact on menswear. What's really interesting is how their style changed from one album to another, a reflection of the quick changes and evolution of fashion in the 80s. From punk inspired to neon dandy to avant garde rocker styles, Duran Duran always got it right.

Below a photo of the band in 1985, wearing ensembles that wouldn't look dated in 2012; well only their hair.
